The Radio Great Paul Harvey

By admin | March 1, 2009

“In times like these, it helps to recall that there have always been times like these.”
Paul Harvey (1918c- 2009)

I can remember being home as a young lad listening to Mr. Harvey’s wonderful voice on early morning radio with my dad.  He really made the the job look easy, with his smooth, polished and unhurried delivery.  Although I’m now 53 years old, hearing his voice could still take me home.

Mr. Harvey came by his personal success in part through the natural  gift of  that  wonderful voice. But he also earned success through nurturing his gift. He worked hard to develop and keep that wonderful voice in tip top condition and employed coaches to help him maintain it.  When asked what brought him such great success through his 90 years some of his replies were:

  1. Discipline.
  2. Pacing myself
  3. Prepare for the show.
  4. Don’t talk too much.
  5. Don’t talk too fast.
  6. Listen.

Those are just a few, many more make up The Rest of The Story. You can read more at the Paul Harvey home page. I would also suggest that you take a look at Sharon Morin’s blog, Crystal Spring Live Newsletter Training for a deeper article.

Wishing you a larger life,

BB
