“I thank God for my handicaps, for, through them, I have found myself, my work, and my God” – Helen Keller (American Author and Educator who was blind and deaf. 1880-1968)

An Attitude Of Gratitude

It’s difficult to see at first glance how thankfulness, or gratitude, can be an important key to your success. However, by attempting to cultivate an ‘attitude of gratitude’ you are tapping into the timeless laws of success.

Thankfulness is fundamentally related to positivity and negativity. When you maintain a grateful it is practically impossible to be negative about your life. As A. W. Tozer stated “a thankful heart cannot be cynical”.

Most work-places contain numerous cynical people – ready to run the company down, run the boss down and run the industry down. Most can and do, actually produce the evidence that supports their beliefs. Interestingly enough, the laws of success are also employed by these people. In talking about what they don’t like, they are using the principles to attract what they don’t want. The they act based on those beliefs. So, their reality reinforces their views about the company, the boss, the industry and whatever else has been the subject of their negativity.

Conversely, having an attitude of gratitude impacts your general outlook on life; and people generally will prefer to work with happy, cheerful, grateful people than miserable, down-cast, merchants of doom and gloom. As a consequence of this attitude truly grateful people, literally attract opportunities that others miss or even possibly repel.

Thankfulness is an attitude that is an important key to personal success. It is an attitude we all need to learn to acquire – particularly when we feel we are in difficult circumstances and in challenging times like these. So learn to be grateful.

Wishing you a larger life,

To Ensure Success – Spend More Time Thanking People

There was a time when I thought that just because I signed someone’s time sheet or paycheck they had to do what I said when I said it. I can tell you from painful personal experience that just isn’t true. My youthful arrogance was quickly tempered by people predictably ignoring me. We human beings have free will and that will needs to be encouraged rather than forced in a constructive, positive reinforcement. I’m not suggesting you give phony compliments or to invent situations with positive outcomes. What I am saying is be truly grateful when you say thank you and be aware of all the good things going on around you.

Want to be a better teacher? Encourage every single one your students.

Want to be a better parent? Catch your kids doing something “right” and be sure to tell them how proud they make you.

Want to be a better manager, supervisor, employee? Let everyone you work with know what a great job their doing.

Just plain want to have a better day? Thank those you come in contact with for doing whatever it is they do. Show gratitude for those around you who make your success possible.

Remember, moma said “you’ll catch more flies with honey than vinegar”.

Wishing you a larger life,
